How long does your emotional depression last when your NFL team loses?
Every week this time of year, ½ of the NFL fans are elated because their team won a game and ½ are out of sorts because their guys lost a game.
For me, a lot depends on how my team was expected to do in a Sunday game. If they were big underdogs, then I get over it fairly quickly. If they were victims of an upset, or if they lose a close game, I struggle a lot more.
I generally get so PO’d, I don’t watch any other game that Sunday or the Monday game. As the new week begins, I avoid reading all the depressing sports articles and columns, and I don’t watch the sports highlight shows. I don’t want to hear about the team or read about them. I’m just not in the mood.
Then around Wednesday, I’ll venture online to take a look at the standings, and the coming week’s schedule, and see what my team needs to do in terms of making the playoffs. By Thursday, I’m checking injury reports, looking at odds makers predictions for the coming weekend games, and beginning to get excited again. Then by Saturday, I’m stocking up on brew and food and getting ready to tailgate if it’s a home game or getting ready watch in wide screen high def splendor if it’s an away game.
